Our new challenge, LEADING LINES, starts today & ends on Dec. 15th . There are many lines to look for when shooting your images....Vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curves & "S" curve....even converging lines.

The use of Leading Lines in your photographs can have a very powerful effect.
• They can create depth and perspective to an image.
• They can convey distance and provide a relationship between the foreground and background of the image.
• They draw the eyes into a picture, leading them through a scene or directing them to an area in the image that the viewer would otherwise not have noticed.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back, Photo Challengers!!!

We hope you're all well-rested and ready for another great year of shooting. Once again, we're going to make some changes in how we manage things here in the Challenge. Here's the scoop:

--Challenges will be posted once a month (on the 15th)
--Shoot for the challenge, post your photo(s) on your blog and link to the challenge entry via comments on our blog
--Others will use the links you post to view and comment on your photos
--There will not be a vote--we're all in this for the fun and for having an 'assignment' to shoot for AND to share our visions
--The next challenge will then be posted (again, on the 15th)

In addition to challenges, we will post some photography tips a couple of times a month. If you have any suggestions or requests, drop a line to Marie or Vicki and we'll try to include your ideas into our lessons and tips.

As you can see, our first challenge has been posted. Remember...fall colors don't ALWAYS mean oranges, reds and yellows...what does fall color look like in your area?

Community Photo Challenge- MAILBOXES

This weeks photo challenge is MAILBOXES. Find an old beat-up mailbox, an unusual, creative one...or concentrate on a lovely photographic shot of your own mailbox or even a group of mailboxes. They come in all shapes & sizes. This should be another easy challenge, so get out & shoot!
Don't forget to follow the GUIDELINES, come back here & leave your link.
All entries must be posted between March 12th to March 26th at 9 PM EST.

Community Photo Challenge-The Festival Of Lights!

This Challenge is...The Festival of Lights! It can be anything representing Hanukah. Menorah, dreidel, Star of David... it can be family gathered around the lighting of the Menorah...ANYTHING, just no moving photos or slideshows.
Starting Tonight , Dec. 4th & ends Thursday, Dec. 11 please post an image on your blog, come back here & leave your link.

Of course, If you don't celebrate Hanukah, you may post something that represents your holiday in lights!

Christmas Season

When we decided to post this challenge, we planned to keep it fun, simple and not have a poll. The plan was to create a collage of ALL entries--as long as we don't have TOO many. Ü We're going to do the same thing for Part Two of this challenge, which will be posted tonight--it was planned as a surprise to our readers. We hope you join in...

Our next challenge, "Give Thanks For...." starts November 14 & ends on the Thursday, Nov. 20th @ 9 PM EST. You may show it in one photo, a composite, or collage. You may be creative in your collage. If you add a few photos, we will only count the top photo. We will NOT consider any slideshows or moving images.

Blogger's Community Photo Challenge-CHANGE

Our first challenge on our new blog is CHANGE, it was suggested by Rob. Vicki & I thought it was perfect for our move here.

Rob wrote: CHANGE, could signify everything from the change of seasons to political change to the change in your pocket - an open-ended theme which could hopefully inspire some creativity.
